Creating Brighter Futures Through Educational Excellence
Linn-Mar School Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to helping Iowa's Linn-Mar Community School District have quality education.
Our mission is to provide ongoing financial support to the district, ensuring students have access to the best educational opportunities possible.
Since 1985, we have been significantly improving the lives of students and educators in our community through the help of dedicated supporters and generous donations. Our rapidly growing school district now serves over 7,500 students in 12 schools.
Funding Educational Programs and Tools
Our primary focus is on three key areas: scholarships, classroom grants, and special projects. We proudly offer scholarships to deserving students, helping them pursue higher education and achieve their dreams.
Our classroom grants program supports innovative teaching methods and resources, ensuring the highest quality education for our students by utilizing the following:
- Music and Literacy Enrichment Programs
- Innovative Classroom Tools and Technology
- Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Initiatives
- New and Emerging Curriculum and Underserved Curriculum Areas
We also have special projects, such as facility improvements and technology upgrades, to enhance the educational experience in the Linn-Mar Iowa School District.
Board of Trustees and Staff

Our professional staff members manage the day-to-day operations, fundraising efforts, and program administration.
Board of Directors
Board President - Kallie Herink (FSB)
Kallie grew up in Northwest Iowa, graduating in 2010 from Hartley Melvin Sanborn High School. She moved to Marion two days after graduating and began her life in the area.
Kallie attended Coe College where she received her Bachelor of Arts in History. While attending Coe, Kallie met her husband, Alex. After graduation, Kallie & Alex bought a house in Marion and were married in 2015. Kallie also began her career at Farmers State Bank in 2015, starting as a teller, moving to teller supervisor, Treasury Management Specialist and now has been the Treasury Management Supervisor since 2022.
In 2018, the couple moved into a larger home to accommodate their growing family. They were elated to find a home in the Linn-Mar school district where for the ’24-’25 school year they will have a 3rd & 1st grader. In their free time (what is that?!), the family enjoys going to farmers markets, attending their daughter’s dance activities, chasing after their 1.5 year old, and being outside.
Kallie has always wanted to be involved with her children’s school in some way or another, she tries to volunteer at the school as much as she can, but in doing so, she’s realized there is so much more she can and wants to do for the district; “I choose to be involved with the Foundation for my kids, their classmates, family, neighbors and teachers. Supporting the Foundation means supporting quality education, providing tools and resources for teachers, and creating opportunities for ALL students.
